Senior Financial Analyst

Thursday, May 22, 2008 - We are seeking candidates for a Senior Financial Analyst position for a client that is one of the largest facilities-based telecommunications providers of cable, internet and telephone services.

The Senior Financial Analyst will play a key leadership role in managing business unit functions and will be responsible for:

• Tracking financial events each month and generating necessary accounting entries for financial close for the Business Services and Corporate Marketing areas
• Generating variance analysis and financial forecasts each month for the Business Services and Corporate Marketing areas
• Providing reporting and analytical support to field regarding marketing spend to promote better forecasting and analysis
• Providing pricing for large customer opportunities
• Evaluating proposed capital projects and usher through approval process
• Tracking capital spend against budget and project completion
• Leading sales performance audit process
• Providing additional discrete analyses as needed

The successful candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in financial analysis and management consulting, preferably in the cable/telecom industry. This will include the ability to adapt to complex and constantly changing environment and set of priorities; excellent planning, budgeting, and forecasting skills; strong Excel and financial modeling skills; experience with Hyperion and Oracle; and strong communication skills. While a Bachelor’s degree is required, an MBA is highly preferred. The position is located in Virginia or Maryland.
